Love is in the hair...

Today I fell in love again. No, not with a boy, but with hair. These two lady's will be my hairspiration for the next 8 months until my 2 year anniversary. They've made me so anxious to take out my tracks ( which I've had in for 3 going on 4 weeks now. Yay me!) and make a regimen for my hair. It'll be a long journey to #TeamLongHairDontCare but it'll be well worth it. I'm pretty sure you too (like me) want to blog stalk them and it's possible. Check them out at Urban Bush Babes

Winter Woes

In January we find ourselves in the dead of winter with much need for coats and something to cover our ear.  Many naturals find it difficult o find a cute hat that is silk lined and gigantic enough to cover our mass of hair. I myself happen to be one of them.
So this winter I am determined to try some earmuffs out.  One thing I must remember is with earmuffs I have to remember to keeps my hair moisturized and sealed as is faces the harsh winter air without cover.  Stay warm with a few of fun options below.

I Promised

I promised myself that I would straighten and trim my hair before the New Year and I did. This way I'd make sure I'd go into the New Year with healthy hair. The poll for my straight hair was about 50/50. I prefer my big hair better, but I've been contemplating a straight weave. Still thinking.

Eco Styler Olive Oil Gel

I've seen so many great reviews for this gel by people with many hair types, so I decided to give it a try. The first time i tried it i put shingled it on top of my Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Leave in conditioner, which i love. The results equals semi-wavy hair, not at all like the 3c-4a I'm used to seeing. The second time I tried it, I decided to skip the leave in and and seal my hair with olive oil. I wasn't pleased by these results either, I had clumps of straight hair. The third time I tried this gel I used Africa's Best Leave in Liquid Hair Mayonnaise. The results were the same as the first. My verdict for this product is....Maybe it's just too heavy for my hair. Fail!

Hair Challenge...Maybe?

I'm thinking about starting a hair challenge, so that I can reach BSL. I'm thinking protective styling, mainly two strand twists until the start of a new semester in January. This is the third week of school and I've been wearing my hair in protective styles so far braids, and tiny two strand twists. If I decide to accept the challenge I"ll check back in.
