My Summer Essentials
Every summer, just like clock work, my wardrobe goes from punk chic to Woodstock princess. It's as if the warm rays encourage me to be one with the earth. Got The Growing Up Blues
I've got a bad case of the growing up blues and probably partly because I'm a fashion major. Next month I'll be 20, but it's not something I'm sure of. I'm at an age where I feel like I don't know where to shop, so most of it is done in vintage stores, thrift shops, discounter stores, and online. I definitely know what I want to look like, but I feel like the stores I used to shop at aren't cutting it. When I went home for Spring break in March me and my friend went to Forver21, H&M, AE and other stores and the only things I bought were a pair of socks and a few pieces of jewelery. It's almost like I'm too old to shop at these stores, but I don't have a wallet to shop where I want. I presume the 20's will be some of the hardest years of my life with me caught somewhere between teen years and adult hood. Hopefully I'll find the median soon (very soon), but until the hopefully I can be held over by ASOS and my imaginary closet on Shop Style.

I was looking for BET's Black Girls Rock version of Nina Simone's Four Women and stumbled across this amazing mash up featuring Ms. Simone and Talib Kweli. I'm in love again...again and this time it's with real hip hop. I'm in awe with the way Talib Kweli bought Four Women into my generation and made it relevant. I'll definitely be adding more of Mr. Kweli to my Pod line up.

Today I fell in love again. No, not with a boy, but with hair. These two lady's will be my hairspiration for the next 8 months until my 2 year anniversary. They've made me so anxious to take out my tracks ( which I've had in for 3 going on 4 weeks now. Yay me!) and make a regimen for my hair. I know....
I know I said I'd be more consistent, but hey I'm a college student and things come up. Remember the infamous Lil' Kim dress I ranted about the other day? Well I didn't manage to remember to take a full body picture so here's a snippet of it and my dapper friend Kevin
He make bows of all sorts...bow ties, bow purses, bow bras, bow headbands. You name it he makes it and he recently had a showing at our school's talent show and I was in it and I have straight hair (gasps for breath)

Stop sneaking in my closet...
...that's what I need to tell the Queen Bee, Lil Kim because she has definitely been taking peeks. A few weeks ago while thrift I picked up the same dress Kim wore to Damon Peruzzi's birthday party this past weekend. Differences? My dress is black, short sleeve, has a sequins neckline, ruching along the sides, a tulip hem line, and the back is cut out. We definitely could have been twins though. I plan on debuting my version of the dress this Thursday at my school's Rock the Runway fashion show. Stay tuned for pictures of my look for less.

...Everybody knows Imma mova'freakin monster, But I do not believe that Kanye West or Jay Z apart of the illuminati. No, Kanye didn't sell his soul to the Devil for fame and fortune. I do however, believe he is a master mind for making people believe this because with information like this the believers will always come back for more just to see what he's doing now. Winter Woes
In January we find ourselves in the dead of winter with much need for coats and something to cover our ear. Many naturals find it difficult o find a cute hat that is silk lined and gigantic enough to cover our mass of hair. I myself happen to be one of them.
So this winter I am determined to try some earmuffs out. One thing I must remember is with earmuffs I have to remember to keeps my hair moisturized and sealed as is faces the harsh winter air without cover. Stay warm with a few of fun options below.
